We had a busy day at the office, but the real "action" was out on the highway that runs past our office. Evidently a domestic dispute between a husband and wife from Chatham county ended up with shots being fired into her car and him dying in a car crash! By all reports there may have been a genuine shootout involved. The CSIs and all manner of investigators were on the scene. And here I thought we lived in this quiet little bedroom community! Ha! Little ole Apex PD couldn't handle the traffic tie up and didn't call on either the Sheriff's dept or the SHP for traffic control and so when lunch time came, I had to take back roads through the "country" to get to Cary for a birthday lunch for the Executive Director of the NCVMA, Claire Holley, who's a friend of ours. It was lovely lunch, but even having left in time to make it back to the office by 2 pm I finally got there at 2:45 due to the terrible traffic tie up and no one directing traffic, just allowing the usual traffic lights to do their thing!!!
I hope the midwestern weather has moderated...our "cold" weather has returned and we're still looking for some more 60's by the end of the weekend...who knows!?! It was 40 degrees when I left the office tonight...not NC weather this time of year for sure!
I expect a busy Saturday a.m. tomorrow and am going to hit the hay early tonight...
